This collage was created at Callendar House in September 2025, during a workshop delivered by Never Such Innocence, in response to Diana Forster’s art exhibition Somewhere to Stay. Below, the artist Heather P. (Larbert High School) explains her vision.

After seeing the art created by Diana Forster I was inspired by her ‘Cabbage Patch’ artwork. The story of the children sneaking out to eat the cabbage because of how starving they were inspired me to create a piece about the children that suffered and lost their lives during the war. I also added the tree and crosses that were seen in Diana Forster’s work. I decided to add in a target symbol to subtly show the brutality of the war.
