This collage was created at Callendar House in September 2025, during a workshop delivered by Never Such Innocence, in response to Diana Forster’s art exhibition Somewhere to Stay. Below, the artist EllaD. (Larbert High School) explains her vision.

In response to the “Somewhere to Stay” exhibition I created a collaged piece of work. My piece has a phone centred in the middle with photos inside of fashion, tourism and shopping. I used straight cut lines in this section to show the organisation and stability. However, outside the phone the images become torn up as it discusses the themes of war, displacement and conflict. I wanted to show how we become so glued to our phones, looking at what is the new trend instead of realising what horrors go on outside of the media. I also used a hand featuring jewellery to show the ignorance of many when it comes to the realities of the world. I used a bright colour scheme in this featuring mainly red, yellow and blue. These represent different emotions with the red and blue representing surface anger and sadness showing how many people may display empathy towards the conflict in the world; however below this is yellow to show that they do not truly care and are content with their own lives.
